Erasure Coding Over-replication
Erasure Coding Over-replication
EC segments are subject to over-replication the same as non-EC streams. If segments get over-replicated, the HP trims them the same way non-EC streams get trimmed.
Since they use the same mechanisms for over-replicating and trimming, there is no way to differentiate between over-repped EC segments and replicas. But there should not be a need to differentiate between them either. Both are excess objects in the cluster.
