FileFly 2.0 Release Notes

This release of FileFly features Task completion notification and aggregated server statistics, Windows Server DRFS and ReFS integration, and numerous improvements and fixes:

Admin Console

  • New: Ability to pause migration during work hours
  • New: Auto-updating warnings box
  • New: Email notification for serious agent health issues and improved agent health reporting
  • New: Task completion notification
  • New: Aggregated server statistics
  • Updated to JRE 8u74 and Tomcat 8.0.32
  • Installation of custom webserver certificate during install
  • Replacement of existing webserver certificate during install
  • Fixed: Locked/skipped files no longer counted as failures in agent stats
  • Fixed: Spurious error during advanced demigrate
  • Fixed: Minor URI handling issues

Agent

  • TLS connections now support SNI (FFLY-33)
  • Updated openssl libraries to 1.0.2h
  • Fixed: Locked files were reported as errors during advanced demigrate
  • Fixed: TLS client connections were hung

Caringo Swarm and Gateway

  • Improved object updates, reducing the number of writes during several operations
  • Fixed issue that caused object update 409 conflicts
  • Added support for partition names to contain non-ASCII Unicode characters

DrTool

  • Various GUI improvements

Microsoft Windows Server

  • Added ReFS support
  • Added DFS-R support
  • Improved Windows NFS Server interoperability
  • Improved demigration support, including demigrate on data access rather than on open
  • Improved installer, warning if a local administrator rather than a domain administrator account is used
  • Clarified Windows OS Service Pack requirements
  • Added sha256 signing to binaries ready Microsoft dropping support for sha1 in 2017
  • Updated RAM requirements

NetApp Cluster Mode

  • Improved reporting of issues with filer connections
  • Improved configuration application
  • Improved backup support when using read-only backup snapshot
