Swarm Cluster Services 1.7.1 Release Notes

Changes in Swarm Cluster Services (SCS) 1.7.1

This release features the following improvements:

  • An issue was fixed that would sometimes prevent Storage nodes from booting or would cause node listing results to be incorrect. (SCSL-410)

  • A new feature was added to the SCS CLI that provides a report of any customized templates at the group or instance level. This may be used to detect when a custom node.cfg has been defined, for example. (SCSL-396)

  • Support for Red Hat 8 and Rocky Linux 8 has been added.

CentOS 7 becomes End of Life (EOL) in June 2024, and as a result, it will be required to migrate away from this to another distribution. DataCore has decided to standardize on the Rocky Linux distribution, starting with v8.

Limitations

  • When restoring from a backup, the currently-activated versions of installed components will need to be double-checked and possibly updated. (SCSL-425)

  • SELinux must be disabled when initializing or upgrading SCS. (SCSL-365)

  • Performing a system reset (scsctl system reset) may result an error if it runs after an upgrade. Contact support if this occurs. (SCSL-370)

  • There is no support for using gPXE instead of iPXE in this release. (PLT-60)
