Swarm Cluster Services 1.7.2 Release Notes

Important

Starting from SCS 1.7.2, DataCore Swarm requires Rocky Linux/ RHEL 8 as a mandatory operating system. SCS 1.7.1 + CentOS/RHEL 7 can be used to migrate to SCS 1.7.2 + Rocky Linux/ RHEL 8 operating system.

Changes in Swarm Cluster Services (SCS) 1.7.2

This release features the following improvements:

  • Improved support for consistent logging in EL8-style environments. (SCSL-412)

  • Several fixes to restoring backups. This is especially essential when migrating from existing EL7-style environments. (SCSL-428, SCSL-429, SCSL-430)

Limitations

  • When adding new storage nodes to a cluster, ensure that all existing nodes are online. This will prevent IP address conflicts during the boot sequence. (SCSL-430)

  • When restoring from a backup, the currently-activated versions of installed components will need to be double-checked and possibly updated. (SCSL-425)

  • SELinux must be disabled when initializing or upgrading SCS. (SCSL-365)

  • Performing a system reset (scsctl system reset) may result an error if it runs after an upgrade. Contact support if this occurs. (SCSL-370)

  • There is no support for using gPXE instead of iPXE in this release. (PLT-60)
