Manual Ubuntu Installation

This document includes the step-by-step procedure to install the Operating System (OS) with the Single Node Swarm application. Here, we are installing Ubuntu OS as an example.

We are installing Ubuntu 22.04.3 server on a bare metal.

Prerequisites

Before we begin, make sure the following are in place:

  • Target Hardware: The hardware profiles must match one of the existing templates defined in Datacore’s hardware sizing tool. If it does not match, please get in touch with the Solution Architect (SA) or Customer Engineering (CEngg) team for guidance.

  • Network Access: The internet connectivity must be available to NIC interfaces to be used for the Single Node Swarm packages installation.

Deployment Steps

Refer to the following deployment procedure on an example hardware:

Whichever installation method is used, it will end with an SCSP or S3-compatible HTTPS endpoint along with the access and secret needed to configure your S3 client. You must configure your client to map the endpoint to the SNS server, and it must trust the endpoint’s certificate.
