Log Bundle Collection and Support Submission
Overview
This document explains how to collect support bundles using the Single Node Swarm (SNS) UI. It covers both uploading the bundle directly to DataCore Support (if you already have a support case) and downloading it locally for manual submission. The document also outlines what's included in the bundle and provides important notes on browser settings and file behavior.
Accessing the SNS UI
To access the SNS UI:
Connect to the SNS UI via the IP address of the machine and port 9010 (For example:
http://<serverIP>:9010/ui).The login screen will be displayed.
Uploading a Support Bundle (With an Existing Support Case)
On the login screen, click the Support Bundle widget.
The Support Bundle interface appears.
Note
This widget is available only after a successful installation.
If you already have a support case, enter the support case number in the dialog box.
Click Generate and Upload. The system will generate the bundle and attempt to upload it to DataCore’s support portal.
If the upload fails, you will see an error message. The message includes a link pointing to the location of the support bundle, which can be shared with the support team.
Downloading a Support Bundle (Without a Support Case)
On the login screen, click the Support Bundle widget.
Note
This widget becomes active after successful installation.
If you do not have a support case opened, click Generate and Download to create the bundle and download it locally.
Caution
Disable the pop-up blocker before clicking Generate and Download to avoid interruptions.
Once the log files are generated, your download should start automatically.
If your browser blocks pop-ups, you may see a notification (e.g., in Firefox) prompting you to allow the download.
After allowing the popup, the download will begin in a new tab or window.
Info
Support bundles are generally large (e.g., 32 MB). They will be saved to your browser’s default download location. The format of the downloaded support bundle is:SupportBundle-<hostname>-<date><time>.tgz (Example: SupportBundle-demo23-2024_1028-123930+0000.tgz).
What's Included in the Support Bundle
The support bundle contains a high-level overview of the SNS system to help our support team get a general idea of how the system is installed. This includes but is not limited to the following:
System logs
Service information
Networking layout
Hardware resources
Container environment status
Environmental statistics
While the bundle is useful for diagnostics, including detailed issue descriptions in your support case will help resolve problems more efficiently.
Note
As SNS is an evolving product, the contents of the support bundle may change over time. It may not always include all the details needed for full troubleshooting, and should be used as a supplementary reference.
