A DrTool file taken from a destination rather than a source has a few key differences:

  • It is not restricted to a particular set of folders or paths.

  • It is not restricted to a particular set of servers.

The DrTool file taken from a destination displays everything FileFly is currently aware of in a destination domain.

Usage

Usually these files are used for wide-scale recovery or point-in-time recovery of a few files.

To create a DrTool file from destination

  1. In the Admin Portal, go to Policies and create a new policy.

  2. Fill out the name, select the Create DrTool File From Destination, and set the destination Root:

  3. To implement the policy, create a Task to run it.

  4. Run the task, then open the output file either from the DrTool UI or run it from the command line.

  5. The DrTool allows you to Filter the result sets for files between certain dates, which is very helpful for point-in-time recoveries. You can also click Analyze to filter by server and/or file type:

Note

  • When using the DrTool file from destination and updating paths using either the -cmu or -csu options, only the matching paths are modified.

  • Only the most recent migrations are viewed within the DrTool application, so a point-in-time recovery requires filtering by date.

  • No labels
