1. Install the EPEL release.

   1. Download the latest EPEL package curl -O https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm

   2. Install the downloaded RPM yum install epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm

2. If running Red Hat, enable the server extras repository:
   subscription-manager repos --enable=rhel-7-server-extras-rpms

3. Download Kubic Repo for Podman 3.
   Note: Though this repo points to a SUSE Linux repo location, it is the official location podman has chosen to publish the RPM for RHEL/CentOS 7.

4. Create this path in root home folder

   mkdir /root/datacore

5. Copy podman_packages.tar and place into folder create in previous step

6. Extract the file in the podman_packages.tar

   (Note: This results in the folder “podman_packages” being created in the ../root/datacore folder.)

7. Add a new local repo spec with this path, with the file content as show below (/etc/yum.repos.d/podman.repo):

8. Enable the local repo on:

   • CentOS (no additional steps required, this should show the repo as enabled)

   • Red Hat

     yum config-manager enable podman.repo yum repolist enabled

9. Also verify that Kubic is listed as an enabled repo when using yum repolist enabled per above.

10. Install SCS build yum -y install swarm-scs-1.1.0-1.x86_64.rpm.

11. Check the scsctl help command to verify the SCS is installed.
