DataCore Swarm 18.0.0 User Guide

DataCore Swarm 18.0.0 User Guide

Overview

DataCore Swarm is a software-defined object storage platform designed to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance storage for unstructured data. Built for enterprise environments, Swarm enables organizations to store, manage, and retrieve massive volumes of data across distributed infrastructure - with no single point of failure and minimal operational overhead.

Swarm's architecture is composed of tightly integrated components that work together to provide a complete storage ecosystem:

  • Swarm Storage - The core distributed object store, providing erasure-coded data protection, automatic self-healing, and elastic scalability.

  • Content Gateway - An S3-compatible gateway that enables seamless integration with applications using standard object storage APIs.

  • FoundationDB Virtual Machine - The distributed key-value indexing backend for Content Gateway, providing ACID-transactional metadata indexing, listing, and metering operations.

  • Content UI - A browser-based interface for end users to browse, upload, and manage stored content.

  • Storage UI - An administrative interface for cluster monitoring, configuration, and management.

  • Swarm Cluster Services (SCS) - A unified and centralized platform for managing the services and operational information required to install, upgrade, and monitor Swarm storage cluster.
