Swarm 17.0 Update 3 VMware Bundle Rocky Linux 9 Package

Overview

This bundle contains a collection of supported VMware templates for proof-of-concept and production field deployments. Each Virtual Machine (VM) contains all the necessary DataCore Swarm software as well as dependencies.

• The bundle functions with Swarm Storage 17.0.4, which is manually installed in Swarm Cluster Services (SCS) and runs on non-VM machines as a separate configuration step.

• Each VM image in this bundle contains all the necessary DataCore Swarm software and dependencies.

• The software packages are pre-installed and unconfigured.

• All the VMs are built with Rocky Linux 9.6 OS. For more information, see Swarm 17.0 Update 3 VMware Bundle Rocky Linux 9 Package.

The package includes the following files:

• datacore-swarm-17.0.4-ESX-RL9.ovf – VMware vAPP OVF for vCenter 7.0 and above

• datacore-swarm-17.0.4-ESX-RL9-file*.nvram – VMware ESXi 8.0 and higher nvram files (required only for vAPP OVF import)

• SwarmSearch1.ovf – Elasticsearch 8.15.1 VM image

• SwarmContentGateway.ovf – Gateway 8.3.0 VM image (UIS + UIC) (contains component LCS+RabbitMQ)

• SwarmClusterServices.ovf – Swarm Cluster Services 1.7.4 VM Image

• SwarmTelemetry.ovf – Swarm Telemetry 17.0.4 VM Image

• datacore-swarm-17.0.4-ESX-RL9-disk*.vmdk – VM disk images associated with the various VM images

Prerequisites

• A dedicated vSwitch for the Swarm Storage Network before importing VMs with the dual virtual network card.

• VMs created on VMware ESX 7.0 must be loaded into 7.0U3 or higher.

• If using vCenter, use the VMware vAPP OVF datacore-swarm-17.0.4-ESX-RL9.ovf to load the entire set of VMs in one command (Must include the nvram files as well.)

• If not using vCenter, use an individual OVF for each template. This requires specifying the associated disk for each VM.
