How to enable debug logging on FileFly Agents
Debug logging may need to be enabled on a FileFly Agent in the course of a support case to narrow down why a particular file is failing to migrate or demigrate.
Caution
Debug logging generates a significant amount of log data, so verify the logs directory has ample space before enabling and disable it as soon as practical.
To enable debug logging
Connect or RDP to the FileFly Agent in question.
Check available space and, if needed, free up space for the FileFly logs directory.
From the Start menu, open the Configure Caringo FileFly Agent application.
Locate and launch the executable if it cannot be found in the Start menu. This is the default location:C:\Program Files (x86)\Caringo FileFly\FileFly Agent\{version}\Caringo FileFly Agent Configuration.exe
Make these changes on the Change Options screen:
Check the Turn on debug logging checkbox.
Check the Rotate logs on startup checkbox, which is helpful for DataCore Support because it clearly indicates when debug logging begins.
Select Set.
Restart the Caringo FileFly Agent service. This rolls the logs for the first time so the current logs have debug logging enabled.
Important: Repeat this process to turn off debug logging as soon as debug logging is no longer needed.
