Installing and Initializing Swarm Storage

This section describes how to set up and configure a storage cluster. To upgrade an existing storage cluster, How to Upgrade Swarm.

For installing Swarm for the first time, the general path depends on the configuration:

CSN

No CSN

CSN

No CSN

  1. Download CSN/Swarm from the Downloads section on the DataCore Support Portal.

  2. Run the CSN bundle script.

  3. Boot the cluster.

  4. For CSN with GatewayInstall Elasticsearch. Then, Install Gateway (with Swarm UI
    and Content UI).

  5. For CSN with no Gateway, have a local Swarm UI on the CSN and run the Service Proxy script.

Legacy Install Only

This is only for legacy installs. For SCS installation, refer to Online SCS Installation.



  1. Download the Swarm bundle from the Downloads section on the DataCore Support Portal

  2. Install Storage (fsimage/kernel
    files via USB key or PXE server).

  3. Boot the cluster.

  4. If using, install Elasticsearch.

  5. If using, install Gateway (with Swarm UI and Content UI).
