The whole installation process is being done offline, therefore, it is advised to go through this quick start guide before installing Transporter on your device. Follow the four simple steps to install Transporter on your device:
Step 1: Connect the Device
Connect the ethernet cable with Transporter and your device to start the offline installation.
Step 2: Login into Perifery
Enter the default email address shared with Perifery.
Enter the password shared by Perifery team. This is only for onboarding users.
Click Login.
Step 3: Update Password
This is a one-time update for onboarding users. Change the default password to a human-readable and memorable password. The new password must be between 8-64 characters including at least one uppercase, one lowercase, one number, and one special character.
Enter the new password and re-enter it again to confirm.
Click Update Password and Continue.
A confirmation message appears saying that ‘Password updated successfully’.
Step 4: Dashboard
The dashboard screen provides:
Status Overview
Status overview of hardware (all the disks and drives) and services are up and running. If any hardware or services are down, the status overview will provide that information.
- This status shows all the hardware/services are working fine.

Storage
This section provides total storage space information of the device and how much space has been consumed. Also, the user will see a bar view of consumed space out of the total space available.
How to Connect
Copy Access URLs and Tokens
There are two ways to copy access URLs and tokens:
To copy all (S3 endpoint URL, bucket name, access key, and secret key) in one go, click Copy All and save them into Notepad. These details will be used in the future while moving the bucket content.
Copy access URLs and tokens one by one and save them into a notepad.
By default, the S3 secret key is not visible. To view, click on the eye icon or click copy icon to copy the S3 secret key.
How to Use S3 Credentials?
Launch Cyberduck and click Open Connection.
Choose Amazon S3 from the dropdown list of protocols.
Fill in the following fields:
Server – The hostname of the Perifery S3 endpoint URL.
Port – A port in the Perifery S3 endpoint URL.
Access Key ID – The Perifery S3 Access Key.
Secret Access Key – The Perifery S3 Secret Key.
Verify that the URL in Cyberduck matches the Perifery S3 Endpoint URL (it is okay if the port is not shown in the Cyberduck URL).
Click Connect to connect to the default Perifery S3 endpoint.
Browse to the target S3 bucket in Cyberduck.
Data Migration
You can move the bucket content to the desired remote location by following the below steps:
Click on the Move icon corresponding to the bucket. It displays a form in the sliding panel.
Fill up the required fields marked with asterisks (*):
S3 Endpoint URL – Enter the target S3 endpoint URL.
S3 Bucket – Enter the target S3 bucket where the content is to be moved.
Remote Folder – An optional folder path within the remote bucket.
Access Key – An access key for the remote bucket. It must be generated within the remote cloud storage service.
Secret Key – An S3 secret key. It is generated with the access key.
Click Move. A confirmation message appears.
The target remote bucket contains the content moved from the source, and now the source bucket is empty.
Once the content has been moved to the remote location, Move icon gets disabled corresponding to the source location row as it is now empty.
Report Generation
Click on the report icon corresponding to the bucket.
All the objects available in the selected bucket are displayed along with their object size and object status. It gives a preview of the bucket content report.Click Download. It generates the bucket content report in JSON.
The Report icon gets diabled once the data is migrated and the report is generated.
View Content Portal
Go to the Manage Content section and click Browse Content. This will navigate to the Content Portal to view all the content (bucket, objects, etc.).
Monitor System Status
Go to the Status Details section and click View Dashboard. This will navigate to the Grafana dashboard where you can monitor the current status of the system.
User Profile
Go to the top-right corner of the screen and click on the username. It shows two options, Change Password and Logout.
To change the password:
Click Change Password.
Enter the current password.
Enter a new password and re-enter it again.
Click Change. A confirmation message appears saying that ‘Password changed successfully'.
Click Logout to sign out of the account.
