Minimum 3 nodes must be set up and connected to the network to configure the Swarm cluster. Once done, power on the storage nodes.

  1. Upload the YAML file exported from Swarm Configurator. It After uploading the file, it displays the hardware specifications after uploading the file which that are editable.

  2. Click Edit to update any hardware specification for SCS nodes. Click Save to save the updated details.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Swarm Installer displays a wizard to power on storage nodes, click Ok to proceed.

  5. Wait for a few seconds to power on the storage nodes. Once done, details like IP address, host namehostname, CPU, memory, and maximum storage capacity in TB are displayed for each powered-on storage node.

  6. Click Install Elasticsearch to continue.

Information
Storage nodes available on the same network are PXEbooted from the created SCS node while powering them on so it is recommended to put them on the same vCenter network. If not, then customers need to physically reach those storage nodes and power them on.
